Growing Up!

big boy clothes Well this has been another great week he has tolerated feedings and they have gone up to
32 ml of milk every 3 hours and they removed the breathing tube yesterday morning and the
blood gas this morning looked really good. They have started putting preemie clothes on him
and he is so adorable even though they don't quite fit. We are getting so close to him being
able to come home but we still have alot of milestones to overcome. At the moment he is on
a cpap/sipap machine that will help keep his lungs from collapsing between breaths and I don't
know what time frame we are looking at for that one to go away. He will have to drink a whole
bottle in 30 minutes in order to come home and be able to regulate his own body temperature.
He does a pretty good job keeping himself warm so I don't think that will be a problem and he
already sucked the tube constantly at feedings and takes a pacifier so as long as he can swallow
and not choke himself and remember to breath I think he will be ok. so we are still looking at the
end of July or the middle of august depending on how quickly he catches on. Thank you so much
for all your prayers the rest of the NICU could use some also there were 8 babies when Isaac was
born and they are close to 25 or 30 now there are at least 3 sets of twins and one set of triplets
now that take up alot of the Dr's time I have talked with one of the parents of a set of twins that
live in Sherman and those boys are not doing very good at all in fact they have been asked to just
let the babies die ans stop fighting it is very sad and I ask you all to pray for them they do believe
in God but are not Christians.

We don't know you personally, but your mom, Karen, teaches my kids piano, so we've been praying for you all!

    God bless you,
